Contract extends RSRM production through shuttle retirement

Alliant Techsystems received a contract modification from NASA valued at US$812.5 million for the continued production and refurbishment of four-segment reusable solid rocket motors (RSRM) for the space shuttle programme.

Kizuna launch NET 23 February

JAXA’s super high-speed Internet satellite Kizuna (or Wideband Inter-Networking engineering test and Demonstration Satellite, WINDS) will be launched no earlier than 23 February (local time), the agency announced.

Spanish government approves abertis’ acquisition of Hispasat stake

The Spanish government has cleared a deal under which abertis relecom would acquire a 28.4 percent stake in Hispasat for EUR199 million. It had earlier been reported the government was opposing the acquisition.

MDA awarded NASA contract

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. has received a C$7 million (US$6.9 million)contract from NASA to develop an enhanced platform for Dextre, a component of the Canadian Mobile Servicing System for the International Space Station.
