CHIPSat mothballed in orbit

The University of California, Berkeley, said its scientists in effect “switched off” the Cosmic Hot Interstellar Plasma Spectrometer satellite (CHIPSat) last month, ending the mission of NASA’s first and only low-cost, university-class Explorer spacecraft.
