KazSat 1 likely total loss, Yakhta platform blamed

Kazakhstan’s KazSat 1 communications satellite, which went out of control on 8 June following a computer glitch, likely is a total loss, Kazakh space officials said. They blamed the manufacturer’s “experimental” Yakhta platform for the failure.

Intelsat renews China Central Television contract for U.S. DTH services
