Siberian shepherd sues Russian space agency

Boris Urmatov, a shepherd in the Republic of Altai (southwest Siberia), is taking legal action against Roskosmos after a rocket fragment fell on his land, according to a local administration official.

SpaceDev acquired by Sierra Nevada Corporation

SpaceDev, Inc. announced that privately held Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) has completed the acquisition of SpaceDev by way of a merger of a wholly owned subsidiary of SNC into SpaceDev.

Chinese launches yet another reconnaissance satellite

Stennis to test propulsion systems of Orbital’s Taurus II

Lockheed to build, Arianespace to launch new Japanese satellite

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a contract by the Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation (B-SAT) and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (SKY Perfect JSAT) of Japan to build their next geostationary broadcasting and telecommunications satellite.

Russia to launch Koronas-Foton in January

First SBIRS HEO systems achieves USSTRATCOM certification

The first Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO-1) payload and ground system, built by a Lockheed Martin team, has been certified for operations by U.S. Strategic Command.

Two more Xinnuo/Sinosat satellites planned

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) announced that two next-generation telecommunications broadcast satellites, Xinnuo 5 and Xinnuo 6, will be launched in 2010 and 2011.
