Train crash won’t delay GLONASS launch

On 18 July the special-purpose train carrying a Proton launch vehicle collided with an oncoming train in the Ulyanovsk area. No visible damage has been sustained by the rocket.

Mars Odyssey recovering from safe mode

NASA’s Mars Odyssey orbiter put itself into a safe standby mode on 14 July, and the team operating the spacecraft has begun implementing steps designed to resume Odyssey’s science and relay operations this week.

Astrium to develop UK Earth Observation Hub

Astrium has been selected by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to develop an Earth Observation (EO) Hub at the new International Space Innovation Centre (ISIC) in Harwell, Oxfordshire.
