Inauguration of Canada’s first Arctic satellite station

Natural Resources Canada, in partnership with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and PrioraNet Canada Inc., today celebrated the opening of the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility (ISSF).

Lockheed Martin-built GPS satellite surpasses 10 years on-orbit

The fifth Global Positioning System Block IIR (GPS IIR-5) satellite, designed and built by Lockheed Martin, has reached 10 years of successful on-orbit operations.

ESA extends ExoMars contract with Thales Alenia Space

The European Space Agency has awarded a Contract Change Notice to Thales Alenia Space worth EUR98 million for the ExoMars mission to Mars. This latest contract covers the second extension of the mission’s Phase B2 (B2X2) and the second major segment of the program’s development to prepare the production phase (advanced C/D).

KT and ABS sign multi-transponder condosat agreement

KT Corporation (KT) and Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) announced that they have signed a multi-million dollar deal for multiple C and Ku-band transponders on ABS’ satellites, including the new ABS-2 satellite scheduled to be operational by the first quarter of 2013.

Globalstar accepts first three new satellites

Globalstar, Inc. has taken delivery of the first three second-generation satellites from manufacturer Thales Alenia Space. Globalstar officials authorised acceptance of the new satellites at the Thales Alenia Space satellite manufacturing facility in Rome.

Thaicom 2 to save 50.5 degrees East slot?
