Orbcomm Inc. announced financial results for the second quarter ending 30 June 2010.

SES Astra said it has closed a distribution agreement with Starsat to market its satellite broadband access Astra2Connect in Albania.

Inmarsat has agreed a contract with Boeing for the delivery of three 702HP Ka-band satellites which, through a new network, will deliver speeds of up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) to customers.

The first three satellites in the Globalstar second-generation constellation are ready to be shipped from Thales Alenia Space facilities to the launch site. They will be orbited by Arianespace on a Soyuz launcher in October from Baikonur, along with three other satellites in the first launch batch, to be delivered by the end of August.

Kazakhstan will build a satellite assembly and testing centre in Astana in 2012 to produce satellites for local and foreign companies in co-operation with EADS Astrium.
