LightSquared announces additional financing

LightSquared announced it has closed on US$586 million of debt, led by UBS AG and JP Morgan. LightSquared will use the proceeds of the financing for general corporate purposes, which include constructing its 4G-LTE-wholesale network.

USAF demos communications between FAB-T and Milstar satellite

The U.S. Air Force announced that it has successfully demonstrated over-the-air, low-data-rate communication between an orbiting Milstar satellite and the Family of Advanced Beyond line-of-sight Terminal.

New Media Legend picks Eutelsat to launch ‘Scene’ TV platform

New Media Legend, one of Russia’s principal suppliers of uplink services for pay-TV platforms and channels, has selected the 36 degrees East satellite neighbourhood operated by Eutelsat Communications for a new broadcasting platform providing Russian and international channels to complement the NTV Plus and Tricolor TV platforms.
