Proton-M lifts off with Y1B

Rocket: Proton-M/Briz-M; Payload: Y1B (Yahsat 1B); Date: 23 April 2012, 2218 UTC; Launch site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The Proton M launch vehicle, utilising a 5-burn Briz M mission design, lifted off from Pad 39 at Baikonur. Separation of the satellite is scheduled to occur approximately 9 hours, 12 minutes after lift-off (too late for this issue).

Countdown commences for the launch of PSLV-C19, RISAT-1

The Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) for Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C19)/Radar Imaging Satellite (RISAT-1) mission, which met on 21 April 2012 at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota has cleared the launch of PSLV-C19/RISAT (Radar Imaging Satellite) 1 mission at 0017 UTC on 26 April 2012.

MESSENGER settles into eight-hour orbit around Mercury

MESSENGER mission controllers at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland, conducted the second of two manoeuvres required to reduce the spacecraft’s orbital period about Mercury.
