INSAT-2E completes 13 years of successful operation

After 13 years of satisfactory service, INSAT-2E, the last of the five satellites in the INSAT-2 series, has successfully completed its mission life.

Nearly 1 Billion Smart Connected Devices Shipped in 2011 with Shipments Expected to Double by 2016

Framingham, Mass., April 3, 2012– The universe of smart connected devices, including PCs, media tablets, and smartphones, saw shipments of more than 916 million units and revenues surpassing $489 billion dollars in 2011, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC). These numbers reflect the combined total from IDC's Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker, Mobile Phone Tracker, and Media Tablet Tracker.

Apstar 7 launches on Chang Zheng 3B/E

ATV-3 power connection, station reboost successful

Multi-national flight controllers successfully connected a backup power channel on Saturday, 31 March to the European Space Agency’s “Edoardo Amaldi” Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) cargo ship, enabling electricity to flow from the International Space Station to the ATV to set the stage for a reboost of the station while avoiding an early undocking of the resupply craft.
