Orbital Sciences Corporation today introduced its GEOStar-3 satellite platform, stating the programme is now ready for delivery to commercial satellite operators on production schedules of 24 to 27 months.

Aerojet completes CDR on lithium ion battery orbital unit

Aerojet Rocketdyne has completed the Critical Design Review (CDR) for a Lithium Ion battery Orbital Replacement Unit (ORU), which will continue to give astronauts the power they need to conduct important research aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

NewSat selects Kratos for command & control system for Jabiru-1

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. announced that its Kratos Integral Systems International (Kratos ISI) business unit has been awarded a contract by NewSat Limited to provide the satellite command and control system for the Jabiru-1 satellite.

ADS launches AuroraGlobal, enters agreement with Intelsat

Intelsat S.A. has entered into a new agreement with Airbus Defense & Space, bridging maritime VSAT services to Intelsat’s High Throughput Satellite (HTS) EpicNG platform. This agreement is part of Airbus Defense and Space’s newly launched AuroraGlobal suite of high throughput satcom services.

LightSquared and ViaSat enter strategic relationship

LightSquared announced a multi-year agreement with ViaSat, Inc. Together, the companies will introduce ViaSat L-band Managed Service, a new mobile satellite service that will combine the power of LightSquared’s SkyTerra 1 L-band satellite, with ViaSat secure, all-IP, true packet-switched satellite technology.
