ADS launches AuroraGlobal, enters agreement with Intelsat

Intelsat S.A. has entered into a new agreement with Airbus Defense & Space, bridging maritime VSAT services to Intelsat’s High Throughput Satellite (HTS) EpicNG platform. This agreement is part of Airbus Defense and Space’s newly launched AuroraGlobal suite of high throughput satcom services.

LightSquared and ViaSat enter strategic relationship

LightSquared announced a multi-year agreement with ViaSat, Inc. Together, the companies will introduce ViaSat L-band Managed Service, a new mobile satellite service that will combine the power of LightSquared’s SkyTerra 1 L-band satellite, with ViaSat secure, all-IP, true packet-switched satellite technology.

Delta IV boosters for first Orion flight arrive at CCAFS

The Orion spacecraft has moved another step closer toward its first test flight as the core and starboard boosters for the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Delta IV Heavy rocket contracted by Lockheed Martin for that flight have arrived to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Kratos to upgrade Vinasat-2 Network Operations Center

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. announced that its Integral Systems Europe (Kratos ISE) business group has been awarded a contract by An Phat Technology Trading Joint Stock Company to upgrade the Vinasat-1 Network Operations Center (NOC) in Vietnam to support the Vinasat-2 satellite.

Raytheon receives contract modification on JPSS CGS

Raytheon has received a US$185 million modification from NASA on its current Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS) contract, which is intended to increase the capability and capacity of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) three satellites that support the JPSS mission through 2022.
