The crash of the Proton space rocket on 16 May was due to a failed bearing in the steering engine’s turbo pump, the chief of the Russian space agency Roskosmos, Oleg Ostapenko, was quoted as saying.

The launch of SpaceX’s next Falcon 9 rocket has been delayed to 16 June to accommodate additional work on one of the launcher’s six Orbcomm data relay satellites, officials said.

Following the completion of the heat shield installation, Lockheed Martin has stacked the Orion crew module atop of the service module. The stacking took place inside the Final Assembly and System Test (FAST) cell inside the Operations and Checkout facility at Kennedy Space Center.
