No Zenit-3SL shortage

The first Angara rocket is on the pad at Plesetsk Cosmodrome

Today, the first integrated launch vehicle of the Angara-1.2 family was transferred to the launch complex at Russia’s MoD State Testing Cosmodrome (Plesetsk Cosmodrome) in the Archangelsk Region. Angara-1.2ML (“Maiden Launch”) was installed on the launch pad.

MT Aerospace develops upper stage metallic tank of Ariane 5 ME

MT Aerospace AG, a subsidiary of OHB AG, received two contracts from Airbus Defence & Space, Prime Contractor of the Ariane 5 ME launcher development programme, and from the European Space Agency ESA with a total value of EUR62.8 million for respectively the development and further qualification of the metallic propellant tank of the new liquid upper stage of the Ariane 5 Mid-life Evolution (A5 ME), and the related production facilities in Augsburg and Bremen.

SBIRS GEO 5 and 6 satellite production contract awarded

The U.S. Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile Systems Center awarded a US$1.86 billion contract to Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Sunnyvale, California, for production of the fifth and sixth Space Based Infrared System geosynchronous missile-warning satellites.

6th Boeing GPS IIF completes on-orbit checkout milestone

With on-orbit checkout and validation of the sixth Global Positioning System (GPS) IIF satellite, Boeing has reached the halfway mark in delivering the current series of satellites to the U.S. Air Force, which operates the GPS constellation.
