Failure Review Oversight Board concludes Ekspress AM4R investigation

The ILS Failure Review Oversight Board (FROB) has concluded its work, after a detailed review of the findings, conclusions and identified corrective action plans from the Russian State Inter-agency Commission (IAC) and Khrunichev (KhSC) investigations into the probable cause of the 16 May failure of the Russian Federal Proton mission carrying the Ekspress AM4R satellite.

H-IIA launches new Japanese weather satellites

Rocket: H-IIA; Payload: Himawari-8; Date: 7 October 2014, 0516 UTC; Launch site: Tanegashima Space Center, Japan. The launch vehicle flew as planned, and, at about 27 minutes and 57 seconds after lift-off, the separation of the Himawari-8 was confirmed.

Orb-3 CRS mission launch scheduled for 24 October 2014

Intelsat General awarded contract extension for delivering AFRTS

Intelsat General Corp. has been awarded a complete one-year contract renewal to deliver radio and television programming to U.S. military forces serving around the world. The original one-year contact was signed in 2011 and had six, one-year renewal options.
