Final integration has begun for Arianespace’s heavy-lift mission on 16 October with ARSAT-1 now installed on the workhorse Ariane 5 launcher at the Spaceport in French Guiana. The satellite’s co-passenger, Intelsat 30/DLA-1 (or ISDLA-1 for short), has meanwhile been moved to the Final Assembly Building for integration with the launcher.

Boeing has completed environmental and performance qualification testing on the aircraft satellite communications antenna system it is developing for multipurpose satellite operator Al Yah Satellite Company (Yahsat) of the United Arab Emirates.

Under statutory authority available to it, NASA has decided to proceed with the Commercial Crew Transportation Capability (CCtCap) contracts awarded to The Boeing Company and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. notwithstanding the bid protest filed at the U.S. Government Accountability Office by Sierra Nevada Corporation.
