DigitalGlobe announces availability of 30 cm satellite imagery

DigitalGlobe, Inc. announced the full availability of 30 cm satellite imagery products for all customers. Imagery of this resolution was previously only available from aerial platforms.

Ekspress-AM7 delivered to Baikonur

The Ekspress-AM7 satellite was delivered to Baikonur last week. The launch of a Proton-M/Briz-M with the Ekspress-AM7 satellite on board is scheduled for 19 March 2015.

NSR predicts more growth for satellite manufacturing, launching

NSR’s Satellite Manufacturing and Launch Services, 5th Edition, report projects that over 1,800 satellites with a mass of more than 50 kilograms will be ordered and launched over the next decade, generating US$300 billion across global markets. Satellites launched by entirely new commercial and national operators will complement replacement and expansion missions from traditional players, sustaining the market above US$26 billion per year.

Successful launch of cryogenic liquid experiment

Thor 7 arrives safely in French Guiana

Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) announced that its Thor 7 satellite has arrived safely at the Guiana Spaceport in Kourou. Thor 7 is now set to start its final preparations before its launch by Arianespace, scheduled for mid-April 2015.

ADS, TAS in billion dollar deal with UAE

An official in the United Arab Emirates says the Gulf federation has reached a deal valued at just over US$1 billion to buy two satellites and ground control stations from European manufacturers Airbus and Thales.
