Falcon 9 launches first pair of all-electric satellites

Rocket: Falcon 9; Payload: ABS 3A, Euetlsat 115 West B; Date: 2 March 2015, 0350 UTC; Launch site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, USA. Thirty minutes into flight, the ABS 3A satellite deployed into a supersynchronous transfer orbit followed by Eutelsat 115 West B approximately five minutes later.

U.S. military weather satellite explodes after catastrophic event

The U.S. Air Force confirmed that the 20-year-old Defense Meteorological Satellite Program Flight 13 (DMSP-F13) suffered a “catastrophic event” on 3 February 2015.

Dawn nears arrival at dwarf planet Ceres

NASA’s Dawn spacecraft is approaching orbit insertion at the dwarf planet Ceres. Dawn will be the first mission to successfully visit a dwarf planet when it enters orbit around Ceres on Friday, 6 March.
