Proton M ILV/Ekspress AM7 installed on launch pad

Pursuant to the State Commission decision, the Proton M integrated launch vehicle (ILV) with the Ekspress AM7 satellite on board rolled out of the Integration & Testing Facility to the launch pad.

Aerojet Rocketdyne tests AR1 additive manufactured components

Aerojet Rocketdyne has recently completed a successful series of hot-fire tests of key additively manufactured components for its AR1 booster engine at its Sacramento test facility. The testing of the main injector elements represents another important milestone in the development of the AR1 engine and the company’s commitment to having a certified engine in production in 2019.

ESP receives ESA contract for qualification of 5-kilowatt hall thruster

European Space Propulsion (ESP), a subsidiary of Aerojet Rocketdyne, was awarded a contract valued at approximately EUR11 million from the European Space Agency (ESA) for the flight qualification of the 5-kilowatt XR-5E Hall Thruster.

Harris’ unfurlable mesh antennas deployed on MUOS-3

Two unfurlable mesh antenna reflectors developed by Harris Corporation have successfully deployed onboard the third Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) satellite built by Lockheed Martin . This represents the fifth and sixth successful Harris reflector deployments in the planned five-satellite MUOS system.

Thales selects Harris’ mesh space reflector for Inmarsat S-band satellite

Harris Corporation has been selected by Thales to provide a new advanced space antenna reflector that is half the mass of competing antennas, is impervious to vibration during launch, and reduces shadows that can block solar arrays on satellites.
