The Perseverance rover has recorded the 1st laser sound on Mars. It’s a ‘snap!’ not a ‘pew!’

The microphone on Perseverance’s SuperCam instrument picked up the gentle whoosh of the Martian wind as well as the not-so-gentle sounds generated by SuperCam’s rock-zapping laser.
