NASA ran a scale model of SpaceX’s Super Heavy booster through the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel at Ames, and the data feeds the software that will guide it back through the atmosphere. Dr. Eugene Tu, the center’s director, gives the first talk of the second day at Silicon Valley Space Week, on what Ames will de-risk for industry.
