TS Global Network inks deal with Hughes for JUPITER system

Malaysian satellite communications services company, TS Global Network Sdn Bhd (TSGN) and Hughes Network Systems, LLC announced that Hughes is providing its JUPITER System for a major technology upgrade of TSGN’s existing C-band satellite network.

EDRS confirms services for Copernicus in co-operation with EC

Following the recent decision confirming the ESA/Airbus Defence and Space (Airbus DS) partnership on the European Data Relay System (EDRS), agreement has been reached with the European Commission (EC) for the provision of EDRS services to the European Union Copernicus programme.

Harris completes IT infrastructure for GOES-R ground segment

Harris Corporation has completed the computer hardware delivery, installation and integration supporting the operational systems of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-R (GOES-R) Series Program ground segment at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) facilities in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

Intelsat and Kymeta join forces to enable next-gen satellite applications

Intelsat S.A. and Kymeta Corporation announced an agreement to design and produce innovative, flat, electronically steerable, Ku-band mTenna satellite antenna solutions that are optimised for the Intelsat EpicNG high throughput satellite (HTS) platform. The first Intelsat EpicNG satellite is expected to launch in late 2015.

AMC Networks selects Telesat C-band capacity

Telesat announced an agreement with AMC Networks Broadcasting & Technology, a subsidiary of AMC Networks, for C-band capacity on Telesat’s Anik F1R satellite. In addition, AMC Networks Broadcasting & Technology and Telesat have agreed to jointly market AMC Networks Broadcasting & Technology centre and satellite transmission facilities in New York.

Turksat selects Hughes JUPITER technology

Hughes Europe, the European operating and sales unit of Hughes Network Systems, LLC, announced that Turksat has selected Hughes’ JUPITER high-throughput (HTS) satellite ground system to enhance Turksat’s satellite services across Turkey and neighbouring countries in Europe and the Middle East.

SSC expands at the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility

The Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) is increasing its capacity at the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility in Inuvik, Canada, with the addition of a new multi-mission antenna. The expansion is driven by increasing customer demand for communication with polar-orbiting satellites, normally used for Earth observation and atmospheric monitoring.
