USAF awards contracts for MILSATCOM commercial architecture options

The U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center announced that it has awarded two contracts totalling US$788,000 as a result of a Broad Agency Announcement released in June 2010.

SpaceCom International signs multiple transponder deal on ABS-7

Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) and SpaceCom International, LLC have signed a long term, multi-transponder agreement for Ku-band capacity on ABS-7 to support SpaceCom’s growth throughout the Middle East and Asia region.

iDirect awarded contract for Global Xpress infrastructure

ARD, ZDF take five Astra transponders for HD TV

SES Astra said it has concluded a multi-transponder, multi-year agreement with the German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF to secure satellite capacity for the transmission of High Definition (HD) programmes.

Elettronica Industriale takes additional Hotbird transponder

Pakistan’s Supernet Ltd. takes Ku-band capacity on NSS-6

McMurdo Station in Antarctica receives first data from Metop-A

EUMETSAT and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) successfully completed the first acquisition of data from EUMETSAT’s Metop-A satellite at McMurdo Station, Antarctica, on 19 January 2011.
