SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) released an update to its nanosatellite and microsatellite market analysis study. The study presents the latest observations, trends, and projections for the nano-/microsatellite market. Projections indicate more than 100 nano/micro satellites will need launches annually in the year 2020 and beyond. NSR’s second instalment of the Satellite Operator Financial Analysis study finds that the FSS sector remains robust in financial terms, with continued revenue growth in the outlook, while imminent IPOs and further industry consolidation (GE Satellite, KT Satellite) continue to shape the industry.

Euroconsult’s latest research report, Satellite Communications & Broadcasting Markets Survey, Forecasts to 2021, revealed that 2011 was a good year for FSS operators, with 4% growth in regular transponder capacity, 33% growth in High Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity, and a US$724 million increase for total capacity leasing revenues. Earnings were mostly influenced by increasing capacity demand for video services and rising competition in emerging markets.

Euroconsult announced the findings of its most recent study of fixed satellite services. “Company Profiles, Analysis of FSS Operators,” now in its 5th edition, provides in-depth profiles of all 38 currently-active FSS satellite operators, plus nine companies that will launch commercial satellites in the near future.
