Eutelsat Communications announced the key highlights of its two-yearly survey of television reception by satellite and cable homes. (Cable refers to homes receiving channels distributed by satellite to a cable network.)

Euroconsult predicts 1,220 more satellites by 2019

Euroconsult forecast that an estimated 1,220 satellites will be built for launch over the next decade. The average of 122 satellites to be launched per year is up significantly from the annual average of 77 satellites launched in the previous decade.

Satellite M2M market estimated at US$1.9 billion in 2016

The world satellite M2M communications market is currently experiencing exponential growth as companies seek to raise productivity while reducing costs, Frost & Sullivan said. M2M hardware and equipment have continuously reduced in both size and cost in the last five years.

Teal Group forecasts 38 percent growth in LEO satellites
