New moon race is on after successful Kaguya launch

Rocket: H-IIA; Payload: Kaguya (Selenological and Engineering Explorer, SELENE); Time: 14 September 2007, 0131 UTC; Site: Tanegashima Space Center, Japan. The launch vehicle flew smoothly, and at about 45 minutes and 34 seconds after lift-off the separation of the moon probe was confirmed.
