GPS IIR-20(M) pre-launch details

The U.S. Air Force is scheduled to launch the seventh modernised Global Positioning System (GPS) IIR-M satellite aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket on 24 March from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

GOCE completes early orbit phase

ESA’s GOCE satellite was formally declared ready for work at 0000 UTC on 20 March. During the critical Launch and Early Orbit Phase beginning with separation from its booster on 17 March, GOCE was checked out to confirm that all of its control systems are operating normally.

AGS’ Commercially Hosted Infrared Payload passes CDR

Satellite solutions provider Americom Government Services (AGS) and its partners Orbital Sciences Corporation and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) successfully completed the Space Segment Critical Design Review (CDR) for the Commercially Hosted Infrared Payload (CHIRP) programme.

Court approves WorldSpace, Inc. asset sale

WorldSpace, Inc. announced that the United States Bankruptcy Court in Delaware approved the sale of substantially all of the assets related to the satellite radio business of it and its U.S. subsidiaries, WorldSpace Systems Corporation and AfriSpace, Inc. to Yenura Pte. Ltd.
