Globalstar announces Coface backing for proposed financing

Globalstar, Inc. announced that Coface has agreed to provide a guaranty in support of a proposed US$574 million credit facility to be extended by a syndicate of banks to Globalstar as borrower.

RRsat expands TV programming platform via Galaxy 19

Intelsat, Ltd. announced that RRsat Global Communications Network Ltd. launched an additional TV programming platform on Intelsat’s Galaxy 19 satellite, which is expected to reach millions of viewers in North America.

Teal Mission Model counts 2,033 space payloads through 2028

Teal Group Corp. announced at Satellite 2009 its revised figures for the world-wide Mission Model survey of future space payloads. The study encompasses 2,033 payloads proposed through 2009-2028.

Penultimate GPS IIR-M satellite successfully launched

Rocket: Delta II 7925-9.5; Payload: GPS IIR-20(M); Date: 24 March 2009, 0834 UTC; Site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, USA. After a 1 hour, 8 minute flight the 47th successful GPS satellite launched by a Delta II was delivered to orbit.

RSCC says Ekspress-AM2 ‘unstable’ – W1 to help out

The Russian State Radio Frequency Committee (SRFC) has decided to allocate frequencies for Eutelsat’s W1 satellite, which is planned to be moved to the Russian orbital position of 80 degrees East.

Intelsat repositions satellite to serve U.S. military

Intelsat General Corp. has been awarded a multi-year contract under which Intelsat repositioned one of the company’s satellites halfway around the globe to serve military units in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nilesat, Eutelsat strengthen co-operation at 7 degrees East

Nilesat and Eutelsat Communications announced the signature of a new strategic agreement to pursue the development of the 7 degrees West orbital position which is used by both companies for satellite broadcasting across the Middle East, the Gulf countries and North Africa.
