“Turn the television off, dinner is ready.” It is not just a line that all mothers have down; is it almost a reflex. They do not even need to see if the “tube” is on, they just say it once the food hits the table and within 2 minutes, every member of the family has arrived to partake in the feast. Regardless of what you were watching, whether it was a sit-com, a movie or a sports game, when that phrase is heard, that command, it is time to shut off the television and head on over to the dinner table.
