MUOS communications system module mated with propulsion core

VIIRS instrument delivered to NPOESS Preparatory Project

The National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) team led by Northrop Grumman Corporation has delivered the long-delayed Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS).

Iran to unveil three satellites in February

Iranian Minister of Communication and Information Technology Reza Taghipour said that the country is to unveil three new home-built satellites on 3 February, Iran’s national day of space technology.

MDA receives contract from Orbital

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. announced that it has received a US$2.4 million contract from Orbital Sciences Corporation to provide a critical interface that will enable capture and mating of the Cygnus cargo delivery spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS).

Russia’s recently launched rescue satellites have failed

“Michibiki” chosen as nickname of the first Quasi-Zenith Satellite

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) conducted a nickname campaign for the first Quasi-Zenith Satellite (QZS-1) between 16 October and 16 December 2009, to familiarise people with the navigation satellite.
