The steady rise in the reputation of satellite TV among the general population has really started to raise eyebrows and attract a lot of attention, creating special concern among the many regional and local cable providers who have always thought that their place at the top of the TV service totem pole was guaranteed forever. The full extent of this rise in satellite prestige has escaped many people, as in reality satellite television has already been receiving high customer satisfaction marks than cable TV for some 7 or 8 years by now, a very serious indicator that the days of cable hegemony are over and done with and that the average viewer is ready for something new, something better.

There’s a difference between a self-proclaimed cool parent and the kind of mom or dad who all of the teenagers in the neighborhood are surprised to learn have a great record collection and have managed to not become totally lame with age. And while it is a little bit pointless to pander to your teenager, considering that he or she is in the grips of growing up, having some common interests is always a great idea. This way, the next time that you get looked at like you’re an alien from another planet, you’ll have a bit of ammo to get some credibility.

Now, when discussing the best Pixar animated films that constantly play not only on the HD movie channels on cable and satellite TV, but also on the regular, basic cable channels, it can be difficult to narrow the playing field. The studio has yet to make a truly bad film, if even a mediocre film. Granted, a “Bugs Life” was somewhat overshadowed by Dreamworks studio’s “Antz,” and the story for “Cars” was a bit banal and melodramatic, but the animation quality for both flicks made up for any criticism.
