Movies about musicians and bands are something special; something in an entirely separate category from all of the 3D and HD garbage that litters the cinema on a weekly basis. While those movies go for the “wow” factor, films chronicling the lives of musicians go for the emotional punch. They document the rise to fame; the thrill of celebrity and the sometimes unfortunate and tragic crush of defeat.
