We are an information dependent society. Where we get our information from has developed and changed over the course of time. For much of the 20th century newspapers and radio stations served as the principal source for people to get the latest news and related information about current affairs locally, nationally and internationally. Then, in the 1990s, television rose to the top of the media playing field, with more people getting the news from their television screens than from any other source.
