MDA to operate Canada’s Sapphire System

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. announced that it has received a contract worth C$11.7 million from Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND) to operate and maintain the Sapphire System for five years following system commissioning.

ITU, Intelsat and ITSO agree to collaborate

ITU reached agreement with Intelsat S.A. and the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (ITSO) to strengthen emergency telecommunication resources. The collaboration aims to quicken the response to restore vital communications infrastructure in the aftermath of natural disasters.
