PSLV successfully launches three satellites

Rocket: PSLV-C16; Payload: Resourcesat 2, YouthSat, X-Sat; Date: 20 April, 0442 UTC; Launch site: Satish Dhawan Space Center, India. The three satellites were successfully placed into an 820-km polar Sun-synchronous orbit.

GSLV failure blamed on design flaw

The GSLV-F06 failure analysis committee has concluded that the mishap was caused by a shroud (a cylindrical cover) between the rocket’s second and third stage.

Bonum 1 to stay a little bit longer

The Russian Satellite Communications company (RSCC) said its Bonum-1 satellite would stay operational until the end of 2013 even though it has surpassed its guaranteed life time.
