More than 120 representatives from industry and government recently attended the first meeting of the Hosted Payload Alliance (HPA), an organisation formed earlier this year to advance the use of hosted payloads on commercial satellites.

If your experiences are similar to mine, you likely receive a knock on the door every so often from the cable company claiming they have saved significant money for the neighbors next door on their cable service and can do the same thing for you. A statement like this generally makes me pause and consider the facts. Many considerations go into deciding which television service to purchase. As you contemplate various viewing options, we wanted to briefly highlight some of the advantages of satellite TV.

Goodrich Corporation, the prime contractor for the Operationally Responsive Space-1 (ORS-1) satellite, announced that the pre-ship review was successfully completed last week and the satellite is being prepared for shipment to Wallops Island Flight Facility.
