The Board of Directors of Eutelsat Communications met today and unanimously decided to propose to shareholders at the General Assembly of 8 November 2011 to nominate Jean-Martin Folz as a Board member. Sofradir, a developer and manufacturer of advanced infrared detectors, announced that it has been awarded a multi-million euro contract to manufacture Infrared (IR) detectors for the engineering and flight model phases for the MUSIS/CSO next generation Earth observation military satellites. These satellites will replace the current Helios 2 observational system.

Preparations continue for Soyuz’ maiden flight from French Guiana on 20 October.
