Boeing announced that the fourth Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellite the company is delivering to the U.S. Air Force has successfully completed prelaunch testing and is ready for launch.

The High Frequency Instrument on ESA’s Planck mission has completed its survey of the remnant light from the Big Bang. The sensor ran out of coolant on 14 January as expected, ending its ability to detect this faint energy.

Loral Space and Communications said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said that Telesat has received an insurance payment to cover a partial-loss claim filed following the Telstar 14R/Estrela do Sul-2 satellite’s solar array deployment failure.

It may be surprising to know that seventy percent of all households in the United States have television receivers; that percentage is a little more than having a basic home telephone service. That is because, cable TV lines run over ninety or more percent of the homes and makes subscribing to their services much easier than even a satellite TV. That no doubt is the reason why there are an increasing number of TV viewers switching to cable TV from other sources recently.
