Eutelsat 25B to fly on Ariane 5

Eutelsat Communications and Es’hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, have selected Arianespace to launch their Eutelsat 25B (formerly Eurobird 2A)/Es’hail 1 satellite in the second quarter of 2013 on board an Ariane 5 launcher.

Sea Launch to loft Intelsat 27 in 2013

Sea Launch has been selected to launch the Intelsat 27 communications satellite in early 2013. Intelsat 27 will be placed into an optimised geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO) utilising the Sea Launch Zenit 3SL launch system. The launch will occur from Sea Launch’s launch platform Odyssey at its equatorial launch site, located at 154 degrees West longitude, in the international waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Sea Launch selected to launch Eutelsat’s 70B spacecraft

Eutelsat has assigned the launch of its Eutelsat 70B (ex. W5A) communications satellite to Sea Launch to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Astrium and Air Liquide create EuroCryospace

Astrium and Air Liquide have announced the creation of a European strategic partnership called EuroCryospace. It is an extension of Cryospace, which was set up 25 years ago to develop and manufacture Ariane cryogenic fuel tanks.

Iridium NEXT constellation passes critical milestones

Iridium announced the completion of the satellite preliminary design review phase of the Iridium NEXT programme. This phase concludes the preliminary design and specifications for all elements of the satellite system, including payload, main mission antenna, feeder links and cross links.

NewSat secures additional orbital slot for Jabiru satellite fleet

NewSat Limited announced that it has entered into an agreement with AP Kypros Satellite Limited for an additional orbital slot and expanded frequencies in existing slots. The agreement is subject to regulatory approval.
