XCOR’s tests of Lynx cryogenic piston pump a success

XCOR announced that it has achieved a key technical milestone with its flight weight rocket piston pump hardware. XCOR engineers have successfully and repeatedly pumped liquid oxygen (LOX) at flow rates required to supply the Lynx suborbital vehicle main engines.

SpaceX Dragon attached to International Space Station

The International Space Station’s Expedition 31 crew grappled and attached SpaceX’s Dragon capsule to the space station Friday. This is the first time a commercial company has accomplished this type of space operation.

Astro commits to 18 transponders on Measat-3b

Measat Global Berhad announced that it had entered into an agreement with Measat Broadcast Network Systems Sdn. Bhd. (“Astro”) for capacity on the Measat-3b satellite. The agreement was executed by a Measat Global subsidiary.

SpaceX Dragon spacecraft completes key tests

In the days since SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, the vehicle has steadily completed one task after another as it prepares to berth with the International Space Station.

Lockheed Martin receives SBIRS GEO-4 core structure

Lockheed Martin has received the core structure for the U.S. Air Force’s fourth Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) geosynchronous satellite (GEO-4). The structure was delivered to Lockheed Martin’s Mississippi Space & Technology Center, where engineers and technicians will integrate the spacecraft’s propulsion subsystem.

OHB System to define the CarbonSat environmental satellite mission for ESA

An industrial syndicate lead-managed by OHB System AG, a member of the European Space and Technology Group OHB AG, has commenced work on the definition phase of the CarbonSat environmental satellite for the European Space Agency (ESA).

NASA receives widespread concepts for future Mars missions

NASA commercial crew partner Boeing meets software milestone

The Boeing Company has successfully completed a new milestone in the development of software that will operate its Crew Space Transportation (CST) spacecraft. The company is one of NASA’s partners developing commercial crew transportation capabilities to ferry U.S. astronauts to and from low Earth orbit and the International Space Station.
