WorldView-3 on track for mid-2014 launch; GeoEye-2 to become ground spare

DigitalGlobe said that it plans to complete WorldView-3 on its original schedule to be ready for launch in mid-2014 in order to meet the requirements of its EnhancedView contract with the U.S. government. The launch of GeoEye-2, previously scheduled for 2013, has been popstponed indefinitely.

Taylor to retire from Ball’s Aerospace business after 29-year career

Ball Corporation announced that David L. Taylor, president and CEO of Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. for more than a decade, will retire at the end of March after a 29-year career with the company. Succeeding Mr. Taylor will be Robert D. Strain, who currently is chief operating officer of Ball Aerospace.

SSPI to induct Romain Bausch into Satellite Hall of Fame

SES S.A. announced the induction of Romain Bausch, President and CEO of SES, into the Satellite Hall of Fame of the U.S.-based Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI).
