Second SpaceX space station resupply flight ready to go

The second International Space Station Commercial Resupply Services flight by Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) is set for lift-off at 1510 UTC on 1 March from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

Northrop Grumman delivers first comms payload for Enhanced Polar System

Northrop Grumman Corporation has delivered the first of two protected communications payloads for the U.S. Air Force’s Enhanced Polar System (EPS) that will provide continuous coverage in the north polar region for secure, jam-resistant, strategic and tactical military communications.

Asteroid impact mission targets Didymos

ESA’s proposed Asteroid Impact and Deflection Assessment mission now has a target: asteroid Didymos. For the last two years, ESA has been working with international partners on the mission concept, dubbed AIDA. Last week, research centres each side of the Atlantic agreed the spacecraft would target asteroid Didymos.

Weather Satellite Follow-On Risk Reduction contracts awarded to ITT Excelis, Harris

The U.S. Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile Systems Center announced 31 January it has awarded contracts to ITT Exelis and Harris Corp. as a result of a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) released in July 2012 for the “Weather Satellite Follow-on Activities Risk Reduction Technology Project.”

CET takes NSS-12 capacity
