Ekspress-MD1 suffers outage

Contact with the Ekspress-MD1 broadcasting satellite was lost on 4 July due to faulty orientation of the satellite’s antennas, Russia’s Ministry of Communications and Mass Media said.

IRNSS-1A orbit raising manoeuvres successfully completed

ISRO successfully put its first navigation satellite – the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-1A (IRNSS-1A) – into geosynchronous orbit. Five orbit-raising activities were done by firing the satellite’s on-board motors since 2 July.

Telespazio wins contract with the European Satellite Services Provider

Telespazio, a Finmeccanica/Thales company, has won a contract worth EUR216 million with the European Satellite Service Provider (ESSP) as part of the EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) satellite navigation programme.
