Ball Aerospace powers on NOAA’s JPSS-1 weather satellite

Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. has powered on the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS-1) satellite for the first time. The JPSS-1 is the United States’ next polar-orbiting, environmental satellite, scheduled to launch in 2017.

Ralph is ready for historic Pluto flyby

The Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. Ralph camera aboard the New Horizons mission will provide the closest images we have ever seen of Pluto when the spacecraft arrives at the dwarf planet on 14 July.

Spire closes US$40 million funding round

Spire, a satellite-powered data company, announced it closed a US$40 million Series B round of funding led by Promus Ventures with participation from new investors Bessemer Venture Partners and Jump Capital, as well as existing investors RRE Ventures and Lemnos Labs, among others.
