China launches replacement for lost observation satellite

Rocket: Chang Zheng-4C, Payload: Gaofen-10 [Gaofen-10R]; Date: 4 October 2019, 1851 UTC; Launch site: Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, China. The observation satellite was deployed into a 612 km x 622 km x 97.78 degrees Sun-synchronous orbit.

Jason 2/OSTM mission ends after 11 successful years

The Jason-2/Ocean Surface Topography Mission (OSTM), the third in a U.S.-European series of satellite missions designed to measure sea surface height, successfully ended its science mission on 1 October. NASA and its mission partners made the decision to end the mission after detecting deterioration in the spacecraft’s power system.

Satellite-enabled air traffic control system takes to the skies
