Orbital has still hopes to recover Galaxy 15

Orbital Sciences said the Galaxy 15 satellite, built by the company for Intelsat, had been affected by increased solar activity when it stopped reacting to commands on 5 April 2010.

GSLV-D3 doomed by turbo pump problem – report

A team of Indian space scientists has established that the indigenously built cryogenic engine aboard the GSLV-D3 rocket’s third stage did in fact ignite, which hadn’t been clear immediately after the botched launch.

New GSLV upper stage fails on inaugural flight

Rocket: GSLV-D3; Payload: GSAT-4; Date: 15 April 2010, 1057 UTC; Launch Site: Satish Dhawan Space Centre, India. The first flight of the GSLV-Mk II rocket ended prematurely owing to a third stage failure. The satellite was lost.

Update: Galaxy 15 customers to transition to Galaxy 12 following anomaly

It has emerged that Intelsat has lost contact with Galaxy 15. However, the root cause is still unknown. Meanwhile there is speculation that the launch of SES-1, like G-15 an Orbital Star-2 model, might be delayed.

Galaxy 15 customers to transition to Galaxy 12 following anomaly

Intelsat S.A. announced that its Galaxy 15 satellite (G-15), located at 133 degrees West, experienced an anomaly on 5 April 2010 at 0948 UTC. The G-15 satellite primarily provides transmission capacity for cable programmers in North America.

Aura continues to operate normally after 12 March incident

GPS Oldie suffers outage

A relatively old GPS satellite has stopped working shortly after a manoeuvre. It is not known whether the failure is permanent.
