Four Angara flights from Plesetsk planned in 2022

Two launches of Angara-A5 heavy rocket and two launches of its light class are planned to be carried out from the Plesetsk cosmodrome next year, Russian Aerospace Force commander Colonel-General Sergey Surovikin said.

Rocket Lab selected to launch NASA’s Advanced Composite Solar Sail System

Rocket Lab USA announced it has been selected to launch NASA’s Advanced Composite Solar Sail System, or ACS3, on the Electron launch vehicle.

Soyuz vessel docked manually with ISS after launch

Rocket: Soyuz-2.1a; Payload: Soyuz MS-19; Date: 5 October 2021, 0855 UTC; Launch site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The crewed transport spacecraft was accurately placed on the target orbit for another mission to the International Space Station. This was the fifteenth Soyuz family mission in 2021.

China plans to build special site for Chang Zheng 8 rockets

China plans to build a special pad at the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan to launch the next-generation Chang Zheng 8 rockets on a weekly basis, the head of the Chang Zheng 8 project at the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), Xiao Yun, said on 4 October.

Italian Space Agency moves COSMO-SkyMed satellite to Falcon 9

The Italian Space Agency (ASI) last month moved its second COSMO SkyMed Second Generation satellite (CSG-2) to a Falcon 9 rocket, citing delays in the availability of the Vega-C launcher that originally was to carry the radar satellite.

Aerojet Rocketdyne completes successful SLS rocket engine test series

A recent RS-25 engine test at NASA’s Stennis Space Center completed the Retrofit-2 test series, which validated modernised, lower-cost components for new RS-25 engines to be used on the Space Launch System (SLS) heavy-lift rocket.
