Motorola settles Iridium bankruptcy cases, pays nothing

Motorola Inc said that a U.S. judge had approved a settlement, at no cost to the U.S. cell phone maker, related to disputes stemming from the 1999 bankruptcy of the Iridium phone satellite service.

Boeing to fire another 750 after GPS IIIA loss

Canadian weather station on Mars to be opened soon

As NASA’s Phoenix spacecraft makes its final approach for a landing on Mars, engineers from MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates will support critical weather and robotics systems on-board the spacecraft from the mission operations centre at the University of Arizona in Tucson, the company said.

Sea Launch lofts Galaxy 18 for Intelsat

Rocket: Zenit 3SL/Block DM-SL; Payload: Galaxy 18; Date: 21 May, 0943 UTC; Site: Odyssey Launch Platform, positioned on the equator at 154 degrees West Longitude in the Pacific Ocean. All systems performed nominally throughout the mission, and the first launch of a satellite for Intelsat in 2008 was successfully completed.
