Motorola Inc said that a U.S. judge had approved a settlement, at no cost to the U.S. cell phone maker, related to disputes stemming from the 1999 bankruptcy of the Iridium phone satellite service.

As NASA’s Phoenix spacecraft makes its final approach for a landing on Mars, engineers from MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates will support critical weather and robotics systems on-board the spacecraft from the mission operations centre at the University of Arizona in Tucson, the company said.

All systems performed nominally throughout the mission, and the first launch of a satellite for Intelsat in 2008 was successfully completed.
