U.S. Air Force awards United Launch Alliance SBIRS GEO-2 launch

The U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center awarded United Launch Alliance a contract modification to perform the launch services for the Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) GEO-2 satellite aboard an Atlas V Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle.

Update: Key climate sensor restored to NPOESS

Thales Alenia Space to build Koreasat 6 and possibly new Nilesat

Thales Alenia Space announced that it has signed a contract with Korea Telecom (KT) to provide their next telecommunication satellite, Koreasat 6. Separately, Thales Alenia Space is reported to have been selected as prime contractor for a new Nilesat spacecraft.
