Hubble switch to begin tomorrow

After the recent failure of the Hubble Control Unit/Science Data Formatter – Side A (CU/SDF-A), NASA has decided to go ahead with the switch to Side B on 15 October. If all goes well, the space telescope could resume sending scientific data on 17 October.

NASA’s Mars Odyssey shifting orbit for extended mission

NASA’s Mars Odyssey is altering its orbit to gain even better sensitivity for its infrared mapping of Martian minerals. During the third two-year mission extension, which runs through September 2010, it will also point its camera with more flexibility than it has ever used before. Odyssey reached Mars in 2001.
